Who I am
Franc Wine is the trading name of Martial Chaput, a sole trader based in Eastbourne, East Sussex, UK. I’m the controller of the personal data described here, and I handle every data protection question myself.

This notice covers francwine.co, enquiries sent to me, and the work I do for clients. I follow UK data protection law (UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025). Because I work with wineries and suppliers in France and elsewhere in Europe, I also follow the EU GDPR for people in the EU.
The data I collect

I collect only what I need to reply to you, do the work and run my business.

Where I contact a business about my services, every message offers a simple way to ask me to stop, and I act on it straight away.

francwine.co sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The cookie notice explains the details, including how I measure visits without identifying you.
Who I share data with
I use a small number of trusted providers to run the website and my business. Each one handles data on my instructions only.

I share data with authorities only where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some providers store data in the US. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the UK and EU adequacy arrangements for the US (the Data Privacy Framework and the UK extension to it) or by standard contractual clauses approved by the UK and EU authorities.
How long I keep data

Your rights
You can ask me to:
- give you a copy of the data I hold about you
- correct anything that’s wrong
- delete your data
- limit how I use it
- send it to you or another organisation in a portable format
- stop using it for direct marketing, or for any purpose based on legitimate interests
Email hello@francwine.co to use any of these rights. I’ll reply within one month, and there’s no charge. If I need to confirm your identity or clarify your request, the one-month period starts again once I have what I need, and I’ll tell you when that happens.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, please tell me first. My data protection complaints policy explains how. I’ll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and keep you updated until it’s resolved.
You can also complain to the regulator at any time:
