My commitment
I take the protection of your personal data seriously. If something has gone wrong, I want to hear about it and put it right. This policy explains how to complain and what happens next, in line with the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.
What you can complain about
Anything about how I collect, use, store or share your personal data, including how I’ve responded to a request to use your data protection rights.

Please include your name, how to reach you, and what happened. Any documents or dates you can share help me look into it quickly.
What happens next

| I acknowledge your complaint in writing | Within 30 days of receiving it |
| I look into what happened, fairly and thoroughly | Straight after acknowledging |
| I send you my findings, what I’ve done about them, and your right to go to the regulator | Usually within 28 days of my acknowledgement |
If the investigation needs longer, I’ll write to you with a new date and the reason.
Confirming your identity
To protect your data, I may ask for proof of identity before discussing your personal information. I’ll only ask for what’s needed.
Complaining for someone else
You can complain on behalf of another person with their written permission. A parent or guardian can complain for a child, and I’ll consider the child’s own views where they’re old enough to understand.
Going to the regulator
You can contact the regulator at any time, before, during or after my investigation.
